Skiing with the ski stars in Ultimo valley
Alpin skiing is an important sport in the Schwemmalm ski area. Right here were born some of the best champions in the world, like Dominik Paris and Franz Gamper. Italian and Swiss athletes used the Schwemmalm ski slopes in 2013 to train for the Alpine Ski World Cup. Lara Gut, Marianne Kaufmann-Abderhalden and Dominique Gisin are some of them. To train for the World Ski Championships in Schladming 2013, also Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Aksel Lund Svindal, Kjetil Jansrud, Eric Guay chose Schwemmalm. There is no doubt that this ski area is one of the most appreciated in South Tyrol.
Schwemmalm ski area has 25 km of ski slopes. The longest one reaches 5 km and has a difference in height of 1,100 meters. Here you will find a ski schools & snowboard and the “Bärenhöhle” ski kindergarten.
Endless fun possibilities also for those who like off-piste skiing or mountaineering; in addition here it is possible night skiing and hiking with snowshoes. To taste the local cuisine do not hesitate to take a break by the refuges of Val d’Ultimo!
